After negotiations with the city of Kassel, the club received, a loan agreement, approval for airworthy restoration of the Fieseler Stork D-EKLU.

The firm engine Bende in King Winter - familiar with the Argus engine - (Chef Dirk Bende even flying a restored Fi-156) was commissioned for airworthy restoration of the engine. Wing and fuselage went to a company to Bamberg with years of experience in similar tasks.
The revision of the cell was completed in summer 2010. The following October, the fuselage, empennage and be incorporated systems / components were returned to Kassel.
Since 2006, the club has many other helpers, above companies and other aeronautical company (LTBs) have the Fieseler Storch dismantled completely, restored the individual components or parts new manufactured according to old plans, completed later and extensive testing in accordance with current standards and regulations subject of aviation. The tests of the engine were successfully completed in parallel so that it could be installed after his final test run at the company Bende mid March 2011. This is the original Argus AS-10 engine, (D-EKLU motor) is only in a very small number in use, worldwide, there is, perhaps, less than ten pieces, some of which still flying in the German Messerschmitt Bf108 are used.
After extensive test flights, flights to decrease by the LBA and to the solution of many small and large problems, the stork was presented to the then 'old' airfield Kassel-Calden EDVK, in July 2011 the public for the first time.
The not at all usual approval of the stork as a "normal plane" (can be used worldwide without restrictions) documents the quality and quantity of work performed, the originality was secured by the scientific monitoring of the project.
We are often asked about the cost. For the contracted companies had to provide the services for the restoration, which could not provide the club a high six-figure sum was necessary. Added together, now have the free services of members, supporters and many of the supporting company, one obtains finally an amount that also us something "scared" has.
To this end we would like to remark, had we as a club previously known what to expect and what doth the airworthiness of this aircraft of financial resources and commitment, and we might never have started!
Since June 2013, the association plans to create a presentation hall on the new Regional Airport Kassel-Calden (EDVK). This hall will be used for the Fieseler Storch D EKLU, the exhibition of rarities to the Fieseler Storch, for aviation-related museum exhibitions, exhibitions in collaboration with the Museum of Technology in Kassel, as well as many planned "events" around this unique aircraft . Plans are for example Vintage Fly-In (meetings and visits of vintage aircraft), as well as meeting with vintage vehicles (wings make wheels - WMW - Wings Meet wheels), the population-based presentation (touch and clean set after consultation with the Human expressly allowed !) of the aircraft in the hall and the idea of the unique aerodynamic properties through flight demonstrations.
The development of the project has confirmed our estimates and this exceeded. But the enormous regional and national interest fills us with joy (and a little proud). We will continue the project with commitment and expect the Fieseler Storch, the other flying rarities, planned events and family-friendly presentation with activities for the entire family, a main attraction at the regional airport Kassel Calden present, where we are very safe!
